New Student Orientation Fall 2026
Welcome to Galen University! Orientation is your first step into our Eagle family and serves as your gateway to academic success. This carefully curated experience is designed to provide you with essential information, introduce you to key members of the Galen community, and ensure a smooth transition into university life. During orientation, you’ll meet peer mentors, advisors, faculty, and staff who are here to support you every step of the way. We’re excited to welcome you and embark on this enriching journey together.
Important Dates
1. Advising
Date: Starts August 17, 2026
Details: Advising sessions will be held virtually. During your advising session, you will discuss
your educational objectives, program direction, and life ambitions with a faculty advisor tailored
to your specific degree program. You will receive an invitation from your academic advisor for
an advising session, via your email address.
2. On-campus, Face-to-Face Orientation
Date: August 25, 2026
Location: Central Farm Campus
Details: This in-person orientation session consolidates essential tasks, including activating your
Galen email, registering for classes, setting up Moodle, and completing two-factor
authentication. Brief informational sessions will be held by the different departments such as
Records, Finance, and IT.
3. Launch of Self-paced Modules on University Resources
Date: September 7, 2026
Details: Students will access essential modules on Moodle, covering Academic Policies, Sexual
Harassment Policies, IT setup, Financial Aid, and the Student Handbook. These modules are
mandatory to familiarize students with university systems and expectations.
4. Welcome Week
Dates: September 7-11, 2026
Details: Welcome Week activities are designed to create a sense of belonging from day one.
Students can participate in activities such as:
• Welcome treats and giveaways
• Icebreaker sessions to connect with peers

Advising Sessions
Advising is a critical part of your journey at Galen. Faculty advisors will reach out to schedule
virtual or in-person sessions. These sessions allow students to finalize their academic plans and
receive tailored guidance.
Registering for Classes
Course registration opens on August 17, 2026, after you have completed your advising session.
You can register online during this period or receive assistance with registration during the on
campus orientation on August 25, 2026. Staff will be available to guide you through the student
portal and ensure your courses are correctly selected and confirmed. Students must bring a laptop
or tablet to facilitate the registration process efficiently.
Using Moodle
Moodle is Galen University’s primary platform for online learning. It is vital for accessing
course materials, submitting assignments, and participating in discussions. Tutorials and setup
assistance will be provided during the on-campus orientation.
Galen Email
Your Galen University email will serve as the primary means of communication for grades,
updates, and correspondence with faculty and peers. Email activation is part of the on-campus
orientation, and students are expected to check it regularly to stay informed.
Stay Connected
Once your Galen email is activated, you will be added to the student mailing list. The Office of
Student Affairs and other departments will send updates and important announcements to help
you stay organized and engaged.

Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office is responsible for verifying & evaluating official transcripts, arranging class scheduling, facilitating registration, maintaining academic records, and tracking your academic progress for graduation. The Registrar’s Office also interprets the handbook of academic policies for students, lecturers, and others.
Your Academic Pathway Your academic pathway lists all the courses you are required to take for your degree program. Your pathway is sent to you via email by the records department to the email address you provided to your admissions officer. You are required to have your academic pathway available during Advising and Registration.
Transfer Credits The Registrar’s Office is responsible for auditing your official transcripts and generating an academic pathway with your transfer credits if applicable. Transfer credits are listed as “TC” on your academic pathway. If you have questions regarding courses that have been transferred, please contact the Registrar’s Office at records@galen.edu.bz.
Proof of Enrollment The Registrar’s Office provides confirmation of a student’s enrollment at Galen University. If you require proof of your status as a student, please fill out the ‘Letters Request Form’, and select ‘Confirmation Letter’. The completed form should be submitted to the Registrar’s Office at records@galen.edu.bz.

Student Financing After you have successfully registered for your courses, a bill is automatically generated and sent to you via email to your Galen University email address 1 – 2 business days after registration. You will receive this bill from your student finance officer, with whom you can communicate throughout your time at Galen University.
What is the cost of my entire degree program? The Finance Department can provide the total cost of your degree program after you have received your official pathway from the Records Department. To request the total cost of your degree program, please email: finance@galen.edu.bz

Information Technology (IT) Support ensures the seamless operation of digital systems and services essential for the academic and administrative functions of Galen University. Its primary objectives are to enhance the overall efficiency, accessibility, and reliability of IT resources across campus and online needs.
Technical Assistance The IT support team assists with troubleshooting hardware and software issues and resolving connectivity problems. Please reference our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page as your first level of Galen technical support.

In addition to these services, the Office of Student Affairs also supervises student clubs and organizations, implements academic support initiatives, overseas scholarship programs, and facilitates various student-led activities.
