*HOSP-265 INTRODUCTION TO FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Hospitality businesses are generally reliant on specialized equipment and building systems to operate efficiently. This course will introduce the student to what those system are, how they operate and the basic principles and practices that need to be instituted to insure reliable and efficient operation. Maintenance scheduling, principles of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and water and sewage systems will all be examined. The objective of the course it to provide a familiarity with these systems to the degree that the student will understand basic operation and the part these system play in the efficient operation of the business.
