This course introduces students to special event planning processes and techniques. Emphasis is on understanding the complete process of planning an event: creating, organizing, identifying sponsors, marketing and implementing large scale community events.  Students learn the skills necessary to write a project proposal, realistic timelines, budgets and financial records.  This course will help students learn the leadership and management skills needed to plan special events including delegating tasks, developing publicity, coordinating a team, managing group dynamics, leading meetings, handling emergencies event.
