The Lodging industry is the largest component of the tourism industry and represents a major investment in capital and labor. This course will examine how hotels and lodging operations are run. The generally accepted criteria by which success is measured, the various systems that facilitate the work processes within the hotel and the structure and management of various types of hotel operations will be presented. Because of the Belize location special emphasis will be placed on the operating styles and systems particular to small resort and eco lodge operation.
