| GEOG-251 GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN PRACTICE |
|
(3 CREDITS) This course provides a structured experience in which the student explores the application of GIS in a substantive area of interest. Each participant develops a project which should include aspects of database design and manipulation, spatial analysis, and cartographic production. The project could include some field data collection or it could be based on the use of existing data only. If field data will be collected San Ignacio will serve as the project site for data collection. A list of possible projects that could be conducted for the benefit of San Ignacio will be available at the beginning of class, though students may opt to work on a project that they conceptualize themselves. |
