FIN-340 FINANCIAL MARKETS & INSTITUTIONS

(3 CREDITS)

This course provides an understanding of financial markets and the financial institutions that serve those markets.  Topics include a review of the Federal Reserve and monetary policy, interest rate drivers and forecasting, debt security markets, equity markets, derivative security markets, commercial banking, and non-bank financial operations with the overall goal of understanding the flow of funds between corporations, government, and individuals.  An active approach to applying these concepts is utilized through real-world problems and cases.
