*ENED- 350 APPLIED LINGUISTICS FOR TEACHERS |

(3 CREDITS) This course builds on the introduction to linguistics and language teaching methods provided by LING 110 and EDUC 300. Students review the nature and structure of language and how first and second languages develop. Participants will explore language teaching strategies consistent with the current understanding of the nature, structure, and development of language. Students develop skill in a variety of effective strategies, become proficient at supporting student's second language development. Through current research, they develop best practices to adapt and integrate these into their own teaching.
