Study of watershed ecosystems as basic units of the landscape, focusing on interconnectiviity of aquatic systems from ridges to coastal zones, nutrient spiraling, energy flow, sediment transport and the movement of organisms. Explores importance of standard assessment, monitoring and managemnt of watersheds and necessity of community involvement.
