Introduction to Archaeology is an examination of the general theoretical and methodological issues in archaeology. Topics include the fundamentals of what archaeology is, the relations between theory and observation, relationships between material and nonmaterial culture, fundamental techniques of data collection, the actual experience of fieldwork and applications of archaeology to a greater understanding of our past and present.
