Tourism, as an industry, generates economic impacts far beyond the direct contributions by the primary operated service sectors which comprise the bulk of business classified under the term ‘tourism’. This course will examine the full scope of effects that tourism can have on an economy and the policies and practices that can be put in place to maximize the economic contribution and minimize the potential for negative impacts.
