Galen University maintains an updated list of approved rooms, apartments, and, houses for rent. Local housing is inspected and approved before listing it on our "Housing Available" list. The University can provide assistance in finding suitable housing, based on your expressed needs. All final arrangements for housing are solely between the student and his/her landlord. Students will be urged to sign a lease, or, a written agreement so that all aspects of their arrangements are clear.

There is a variety of housing in the vicinity of Galen University. This includes San Ignacio, Santa Elena, Benque Viejo, and Belmopan, all of which are within easy driving distance of Galen University. Public transportation is also available.

Housing costs vary according to size and location. You can expect to pay around $200.00 USD per month for a small house in San Ignacio (with minimal or no furnishings, and utilities not included in the cost). If you would like a fully furnished, one-bedroom apartment overlooking the Mopan River, you are likely to pay $400.00 USD per month. Sharing a house with another student is a good way to save money.

Additionally, our study abroad students can benefit from our special rates at participating local resorts for stays of varying lengths from 2 weeks to a full semester.
